Fruit People is an 18+ AI companion app operated by Boole (boole.digital). In the app you text and voice-call fictional AI characters — the "fruit people" who live on "Cashew Street." These characters are artificial intelligence, not real people, and everything they say is AI-generated.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Fruit People, why we collect it, who we share it with to run the service, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Fruit People mobile app (bundle identifier markets.boole.fruitpeople) and the website fruitpeople.fun.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use Fruit People.
We collect only what we need to create your account, let you chat and call the AI characters, provide your subscription, keep the service secure, and support you.
| What we collect | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Display name | A name you provide so characters can address you and personalize conversations. |
| Gender | A gender you self-select, used to personalize your experience. |
| Age confirmation (18+) | Your confirmation that you are at least 18 years old, required to use this adult app. |
| Text chat messages | The messages you send to AI characters, processed to generate replies and stored as your conversation history so characters can remember context. |
| Voice audio during calls | Audio captured while you are on a voice call, streamed in real time to our AI provider and transcribed so the character can respond. See Section 2. |
| Photos and images you share | Photos you take with the camera or pick from your library and send in a chat or on a call, and images you post to Fruitstagram. We do not perform facial recognition and do not collect or store facial biometrics or face geometry; each image is turned once into a short written description so characters can react to it. See Section 3. |
| Account & sign-in data | When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple user identifier and, if you allow it, a relay email address so we can create and authenticate your account. (Phone-number sign-in may be offered in the future.) |
| Subscription status | Whether you have an active Fruit People subscription and your remaining voice-minute allowance, so we can deliver the right features. Apple handles the actual billing. |
| Usage & diagnostics | Basic technical and usage data (such as app events, crashes, and performance signals) to keep the app working, fix bugs, and prevent abuse. |
We do not see your payment card. All purchases are processed by Apple. We never collect or store your credit-card or bank details. See Section 6.
Voice calls are a core feature of Fruit People. Here is exactly how your audio is handled:
New users receive a small amount of free voice time, and continued voice use is part of the subscription (see Section 6). Texting the characters does not involve audio.
The fruit people are fictional AI characters. Their messages, voices, and personalities are generated by artificial intelligence and are not the words of real people. AI-generated content may be imperfect, inconsistent, or inaccurate, and should not be relied upon as professional, medical, legal, financial, or other advice.
To make conversations feel continuous, your messages and call transcripts may be stored and used to give characters memory — so a character can recall earlier parts of your conversation and maintain context over time. This stored conversation history is tied to your account and is removed when you delete your account.
Photos, camera and images. If you choose to share a photo — taken with your camera, picked from your library, or posted to Fruitstagram — the image is sent to our servers and passed once to a vision provider (Google Gemini, via OpenRouter) that returns a short plain-text description of the scene. Characters react only to that written description. We do not run facial recognition, face matching, Face ID, or any face-geometry or depth analysis, and we do not build or store faceprints or other facial biometrics. The camera is used only for live video during a call and for photos you actively choose to send, and access is requested at the point of use. Photos you have shared and their descriptions are stored while your account is active and are deleted when you delete your account (see Section 8).
Live video on calls. During a voice call you may optionally turn on your camera. This live camera preview is rendered on your device only. Video frames are never transmitted to our servers, sent to any third party, recorded by us, or analysed in any way. If you record a call to share it, that recording is a screen capture you initiate and control on your own device. Aside from this on-device preview, the camera is used only for photos you actively choose to send, and access is requested at the point of use.
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Fruit People. We share data with them only as needed to operate the service, and they are permitted to use it only for that purpose.
| Provider | Role & what is shared |
|---|---|
| xAI | Provides the Grok realtime AI. Your text messages and voice audio are sent to xAI to generate the characters' responses and to transcribe your speech. |
| OpenRouter / Google | When you share a photo, the image is sent once to a vision model (Google Gemini, accessed via OpenRouter) to generate a short written description of it. This is used only to describe the picture so characters can react; it is not used for facial recognition, identification, or advertising. |
| DigitalOcean | Hosting and infrastructure. Your account and conversation data are stored and processed on servers we operate using DigitalOcean. |
| Apple | Handles Sign in with Apple (authentication) and In-App Purchases (subscription billing). Apple provides us your Apple user identifier and, if allowed, a relay email; Apple — not us — processes your payment details. |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app ad tracking.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, to comply with a valid legal process, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Boole.
Where data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR apply, we rely on the following legal bases to process your information:
Fruit People offers an auto-renewable subscription:
All billing is handled by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never your card or bank information.
You have control over your information within the app and, depending on where you live, under applicable law:
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, contact us at support@fruitpeople.fun.
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it to provide the service and for the purposes described in this policy:
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls on our hosting environment. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device and your Apple account, since they control access to Fruit People.
Boole operates globally, and our providers — including xAI, DigitalOcean, and Apple — may process and store data in countries outside your own, including the United States. These countries may have different data-protection laws than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. By using Fruit People, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations to provide the service.
Fruit People is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. The app is not intended for or directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
You must confirm you are at least 18 years old to use the app. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@fruitpeople.fun.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, our providers, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app. Your continued use of Fruit People after an update means you accept the revised policy.
